In his leisure time, Bradley DiTeresi enjoys watching baseball, and he is an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals.

The Royals finished the 2016 season in third place in the American League Central, with a record of 81 wins and 81 losses. Injuries largely prevented the ball club from continuing its success following its 2015 World Series title. As the team aims to return to championship form, management has adjusted the roster in the offseason.

One move that has drawn attention is the trade of Jarrod Dyson for Nate Karns, a pitcher from the Seattle Mariners. Karns, who played collegiately at Texas Tech University, will enter 2017 with four years of major league experience. In his time with the Mariners, Rays, and Nationals, he has amassed a career earned run average of 4.41. The Royals coaching staff anticipates that Karns will bolster the starting pitching rotation this year.
